Press Release on the Meeting of the OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) hosted the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) - the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) Central Banks Forum on September 28-29, 2025 in Istanbul.

The meeting, attended by senior representatives from the central banks of OIC member countries, was opened and chaired by Governor Fatih Karahan, Ph.D.

The first session of the meeting addressed the global economic and financial outlook amid trade fragmentation and geopolitical risks, and evaluated economic developments in OIC member countries.

The second session focused on payment services and cross-border transactions. In this regard, participants shared their country experiences and presented best practices.

The third session reviewed progress made over the past decade in the priority areas of the OIC 2025 Programme of Action, which have direct economic dimensions.

In addition, a workshop on "Payment Services and Cross-Border Transactions" and a panel on "Inflation Expectations and Dynamics in OIC Countries" were held in the margins of the Forum.
