Press Release on Audit Process at Interbank Card Center 

As per paragraph 4, Article 8 of Law No. 6493 on Payment and Securities Settlement Systems, Payment Services and Electronic Money Institutions, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) is a shareholder of the Interbank Card Center (BKM) and conducts regular audits at the BKM. 

Accordingly, pursuant to the written approval of the Governor’s Office dated February 6, 2024, the CBRT’s Audit Department initiated an audit process at the BKM. Upon the presence of certain findings containing suspicion of a criminal offense in the Inspection Report prepared as a result of the audit carried out, a criminal complaint was filed by the CBRT with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on December 6, 2024.

The CBRT and the BKM are meticulously monitoring the ongoing judicial proceedings pertaining to the matter.
