Prof. Fatma Özkul

Monetary Policy Committee Member

Born in 1978 in Elazığ, Özkul earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Marmara University, and her master's and doctoral degrees in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Social Sciences at Marmara University. She became an associate professor of accounting in 2012 and a professor of accounting in 2018.

Having worked as a Faculty Member at Bahçeşehir University between 2007 and 2021, Özkul also held positions as the Assistant Director of the Vocational School, assistant director of the Institute of Social Sciences, and director of the Institute of Graduate Education at Bahçeşehir University.

Prof. Özkul, a faculty member at the Department of Accounting and Finance, Faculty of Business Administration at Marmara University, has numerous academic publications in accounting and auditing. She is the author of the books "İşletmelerde Hile Riski Yönetimi [Fraud Risk Management in Business]", "Perakende İşletmelerde Muhasebe Uygulamaları [Accounting Practices in Retail Business]", as well as the book "Kripto Varlıklar Muhasebesi [Accounting for Crypto Assets]," which was awarded the 2023 best finance and economics book of the year award.

Mrs. Özkul has served as an Independent Board Member of Türkiye Sigorta and Türkiye Hayat Emeklilik and is also a member of the Board of Overseers at Ziraat Bank Finance and Technology University. 

Mrs. Özkul is married and has two children.

Prof. Fatma Özkul was appointed as a Member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye on 23 December 2023.
