  • Optically Variable Ink

    Gives different colour effects, shifting from gold to green, when the note is tilted in different angles.


  • Windowed Security Thread

    Comprises silvery dashes bearing the letters "TCMB" on the back of the banknote. When held up to light it can be seen from both sides and forms a continuous line.


  • Latent Image

    A concealed emblem consisting of the letters "TC", which can be seen when the note is tilted horizontally at the eye level.


  • Watermark

    Reproduces the same portrait of Atatürk as in the centre of the note and the value numeral (Electrotype watermark) when held up to light from both sides.




  • See Through

    When held up to light, front and back elements of the design combine to form a tulip motif.

  • Microlettering

    The micro-letters "TCMB", "ONYTL" and "TURKİYE CUMHURİYET MERKEZ BANKASI" can be seen with a magnifying glass.




  • Intaglio Printing

    The embossed characters and design which can be felt with fingertips on the front of the banknote.



  • Other Security Features

    Fine fibres in red and blue colours, which are visible under UV light,

    Special fluorescent ink, used in printing Atatürk’s signature and torch motifs, which are visible under UV light,

    UV-fluorescent serial and sequence numbers, printed in red on bottom left and in black at top right sides on the back of the banknote,

    Special banknote paper which does not fluoresce under UV light.
