The CBRT organized the third Central Banking Seminar on Communication on 27-28 September 2019 in Istanbul with the title “Enhancing Knowledge and Building Trust”

The seminar was closed to the press and hosted 40 participants from the central banks of Albania, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, England, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Kosovo, Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine as well as Reuters News. Jakob de Haan from the Nederlandsche Bank and Jonathan Spicer from the Reuters News delivered speeches at the seminar. The officials from participating countries delivered presentations on participating central banks to reach the general public, importance of two-way communication, stakeholder relations, digital tools and measuring the impact of communications.

It was emphasized at the seminar that central banks should address not only the financial markets but also the general public in order to build trust. And it was also emphasized that the importance of using all communication tools in an integrated way, increasing transparency and establishing for this purpose.
