Press Release on Governor Erdem Başçı’s Presentation on "On the Value of Price Stability" in Budapest

Erdem Başçı, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, made a presentation on “On the Value of Price Stability” in the conference held by Magyar Nemzeti Bank on Monday, February 02nd, 2015, at 11:05 hours local time in Turkey.

Governor Başçı emphasized the following points:

• Both high inflation and deflation are detrimental to growth.
• The best contribution to growth from a central bank would be to maintain price stability.
• Reforms in human capital, labor market, technology, innovation and physical infrastructure are going to boost the growth potential in Turkey.
