The US National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) held a conference on “Monetary Policy in Emerging Markets” at the Istanbul Financial Center. The conference was hosted by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT). |
The NBER held a research conference on “Monetary Policy in Emerging Markets” on May 7-8, 2025 at the Istanbul Financial Center to promote research on monetary policy in emerging markets and to analyze past experience of emerging economies.
The conference, which was hosted by the CBRT, was attended by senior central bank officials and academics from various countries as well as representatives of international financial organizations.
The event covered current issues related to the monetary policy transmission mechanism, economic impacts of international shocks, exchange rate dynamics, inflation expectations, and financial regulation from a broad perspective. In addition, monetary policy practices in emerging markets and the impacts of global uncertainties on monetary policies were assessed.
