Press Release on the Meeting of the OIC-COMCEC Central Banks Forum

The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye hosted the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) - the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) Central Banks Forum on September 13-14, 2026 in İstanbul.

The meeting, attended by governors and senior representatives of the central banks of OIC member states, was opened and chaired by Governor Fatih Karahan.

The first session of the meeting assessed the impact of geopolitical shocks and global economic fragmentation on the macroeconomic resilience and the monetary policy responses of the central banks of OIC member states to these developments.

The second session addressed reserve management approaches of the central banks of OIC member states. 

The third session provided an opportunity to exchange views on central bank communication policies in an era of uncertainty.

The fourth session reviewed the role of fintech in expanding financial access and inclusion in OIC countries.

In addition, a workshop on "Managing Reserves and Liquidity in Evolving Markets" was held in the margins of the Forum.
