The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye's Data Research Center (VERIM) seeks to provide secure and regulated access to microdata for researchers who are not affiliated with the CBRT. VERIM enables carrying out research in collaboration with academia, official institutions, and international organizations.

Application Process

1. Requirements for Application

Researchers from the following institutions and organizations can apply to access VERIM for their scientific research and legally authorized studies, provided that they work with at least one CBRT affiliate:

  • Official institutions and organizations in Türkiye,
  • Universities and other higher education institutions,
  • Institutes and organizations established for research purposes,
  • International institutions and organizations of which Türkiye is a member, or
  • Other central banks with which the CBRT carries out joint activities under its technical cooperation program.

2. How to Apply?

Researchers register with the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye Data Research Center Registration System and complete the necessary forms through the system to submit their application. Click here to register and apply.

For any questions, feedback, or suggestions regarding the application process, you can contact us via verim@tcmb.gov.tr.

3. Evaluation

Applications submitted for VERIM are added to the agenda of the VERIM Evaluation Committee. The Committee evaluates the applications based on the technical soundness of the research methodology and the research subject’s relevance to the CBRT Research Agenda, as well as its alignment with the requested data.

4. Access to Data

Researchers sign a “Confidentiality and Information Security Commitment Letter” upon the approval of their applications. Researchers are only allowed to conduct data-based studies at VERIM, under the CBRT supervision, and using the CBRT-provided software.

5. Research Outputs

Researchers compile their findings into a file that can be reviewed by the CBRT. Following the review process, research findings approved for disclosure will be shared with researchers via the Secure File Sharing System.

Researchers cannot unilaterally publish their findings on platforms that do not undergo peer review and editorial processes. Researchers seeking publication on a platform that undergoes a peer review and an editorial process must first have their study published in the CBRT Working Papers before applying to the relevant platforms.
